Workflow automation, with a person on the steps that matter.

Most operational drag lives in handoffs. A request waits to be copied between systems, an approval sits in someone’s inbox, a report gets rebuilt from scratch every month. We measure where the work stalls and automate it.

Scope

What is included.

Scheduled jobsEvent-driven workflowsHuman approval steps
  • A measurement of where work waits, before anything changes.
  • Scheduled jobs for work that runs on a clock.
  • Event-driven workflows for work that starts when something happens.
  • AI steps where a rule can’t do the job, tested against an evaluation set.
  • Human approval on any step that writes to a system of record.
  • A log of every run, so you can see what happened and why.
In use

What clients use it for.

  • Request routing

New requests and orders reach the right person and system as they arrive, instead of waiting to be copied by hand.

  • Quotes and approvals

Quotes are drafted automatically, and a person approves before anything is sent.

Method

How it works.

Measure the stall first.

We start by measuring where work waits and for how long, from the systems themselves rather than from a workshop. Automating the wrong step saves nothing.

Rules first, AI where rules run out.

Most handoffs need a rule, not a model. Where a step needs judgment, such as reading a document or sorting a request, we add an AI step and test it against an evaluation set before it runs.

A person on the steps that matter.

Automation should remove waiting, not judgment. Any step that writes to a system of record, or would be costly to get wrong, goes to a person for approval with the context they need to decide quickly.

Ask a question
Which steps should stay with a person?
Any step that writes to a system of record, and any step where a mistake would be costly. Everything else can usually run on its own.
Do you use AI in automations?
Only where a rule can’t do the job, such as reading a document or sorting a request. Those steps are tested against an evaluation set before they run.
How long does an automation project take?
Discovery and audit take one week. After the audit, the platform runs on your real data within 90 days at most, and a proof of concept can be ready in as little as 24 hours.
